Job Description
  • Analyze cancer sequencing data using established pipelines;
  • Contribute to the development of novel pipelines for cancer genomics;
  • Establish and perform appropriate QC measures;
  • Implement, maintain and document data analysis pipelines and workflows;
  • Benchmark new tools for cancer sequencing data analysis and propose improvements;
  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers on interpretation of sequencing data;
  • Present results in written or oral reports for bioinformatics scientists and internal researchers;
  • Collaborate with bioinformatics scientists in preparing manuscripts and external presentations.
Requirements
  • MS with 2+ years work/research experience in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, biochemistry or similar;
  • 1+ years demonstrated exposure to NGS data analysis; experience using standard NGS analysis software (including samtools, GATK, Picard, bedtools, etc);
  • Experience in cancer genomics; experience with somatic variant calling a plus;
  • Programming skills in R, Python, Perl, BASH or similar;
  • Programming skills in C++ or Java a plus;
  • Experience working in a Linux environment;
  • Experience using an SGE cluster preferred;
  • Experience working with TCGA, COSMIC, 1000 Genomes, ENCODE, or GTEx data a plus;
  • Training in statistics or machine learning a plus;
  • Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
