http://www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/4756/ We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics analyst to join the Bioinformatics Core Facility and play a key role in supporting the groundbreaking research carried out at the Institute. The Bioinformatics Core, currently 10 full-time positions, works closely with Institute research teams, developing techniques and providing support for analysis of data from high-throughput genomics and proteomics technologies. This permanent, full-time role is an exciting opportunity to apply and develop your skills in support of cancer research projects that span a wide range of applications including gene expression profiling using RNA-Seq, ChIP-seq analysis of DNA-bound proteins, and cancer genome re-sequencing to identify SNPs, indels, copy number aberrations and structural variants. Encouragement and support will be provided to develop specialist knowledge and skill-sets. Duties of the successful applicant would include: *Collaborating with research scientists; consulting on experimental design; data QC and statistical analysis; integration and visualization of data from multiple platforms *Developing data analysis strategies and contributing to design and implementation of analysis pipelines using best-of-breed bioinformatics software packages/tools. *Preparing training materials and deliver training courses.
