The successful applicant will work with a focused team of developers, bioinformaticians and user support personnel on the Accelerating Medicines Partnership - Type 2 Diabetes project (http://www.type2diabetesgenetics.org/). You will help build multi-platform, cloud-friendly pipelines for genetic association studies, and statistical analysis of variation and its effect in type 2 diabetes and associated phenotypes. As part of this project you will have the opportunity to work with national and international collaborators, and to gain expertise in biological and phenotypic ontologies. You will also work with software developers to operate Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines for the management, transfer and analysis of human genetic data.Your roleThe main purpose of this role will be to identify suitable datasets in the GWAS catalog (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/gwas/) for inclusion in the AMP-T2D portal. The candidate will survey, categorise, and propose suitable datasets based on the suitability of the phenotypes and raw data available for the published studies. The candidate will coordinate obtaining access to the datasets, harmonising and loading the datasets into the AMP-T2D federated node located at EMBL-EBI.
