We seek an experienced Bioinformatician for a short-term (1 year) posting in a multidisciplinary team of biologists, plant genomicists, and bioinformaticians. The team aims to characterize functional non-coding regions of agronomic importance in mustard family plants using comparative genomics, population genomics, and experimental techniques. The candidate will be responsible for managing and developing a number of high-performance servers and will be involved in high-throughput sequencing analyses of plant tissue. A large part of the role will involve assembly of plant genomes using existing tools as well as the development of new tools for both Illumina and Pacific Biosciences short/long read data. Other tasks will include the integration of comparative with population genomics resources and the reconstruction of ancestral genome sequences. Apply: The position is funded for one year.
