We are seeking an enthusiastic Bioinformatician to join the PRIDE database project, part of the Proteomics Service Team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). The PRoteomics IDEntifications database is a world-leading international proteomics database, and founding member of ProteomeXchange Consortium, capturing large-scale Mass Spectrometry, based proteomics data from the scientific community, and currently managing more than 160 TB of data. The team is also responsible of the development and maintenance of popular tools such as PRIDE Inspector, the ProteomeXchange submission tool as well as several other open source Mass Spectrometry software libraries. The post holder will contribute to the development of proteomics data pipelines devoted to quality control, data analysis and internal data submission and validation. This will involve the maintenance and further development of the software libraries and tools developed by the team. In addition, s(he) will provide an excellent support to PRIDE users, handling dataset submissions and user requests. The post-holder will also have the opportunity to participate in and contribute to training activities.
