Job Description

Berkeley Lights, Inc. is seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Bio-Engineer to join an interdisciplinary R&D development team at our headquarters in Emeryville, CA. 

As a key member of the operations team, you will operate, evaluate, and suggest modifications to a rapidly evolving technology platform engaged in single cell assay, culture, and genomic evaluation. This new role requires an instrument developer/operator who is experienced in techniques of modern molecular and cell biology. The ideal candidate is a creative and productive operator who will take ownership for achieving results in biology and technology development programs.

  • This is a night/swing shift position.  Hours could be 3PM-12Midnight or 11PM to 8AM.
  • B.S. in Biology, Bioengineering, Nursing or other multidisciplinary science field with exposure to applications in biology
  • Able to perform biological workflows with exceptional accuracy.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex instrumentation 
  • Outstanding verbal, written and documentation skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills to work well with scientists and engineers having widely divergent backgrounds.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced start-up work environment.
