•Lead and directly support process development activities by executing test plans to formulate, cast and cure polymers, fabricate intraocular lenses and delivery devices.
•Run design of experiments, record observations, perform direct measurements and operate highly sophisticated equipment and instrumentation.
•Provide lab safety and operational compliance to Alcon HSE laboratory requirements and equipment calibrations.
•Formulate and fabricate IOL and Delivery Device prototypes to support studies using current and newly innovative processing methods.
•Document findings and prepare data summaries using MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer tools.
•Investigate and propose approaches to technical challenges relating to processes and manufacturing equipment.
•Design and execute DOE (design of experiments), analyzes data, and generates recommendations for process development.
• Perform experimental testing procedures and suggest changes to increase the validity and reliability of results.
•Communicate and collaborate with self-directed work teams.
