The Associate Director, Lab Sales, QuanitFERON represents QIAGEN QuantiFERON-TB, other QuantiFERON products, and potentially other core QIAGEN MDx products in a designated sales territory. The Associate Director manages all Specialists, Lab Sales, QuantiFERON in designated sales region in all aspects of the sales process for target customers in the sales territories and effectively presents the company and its products to customers. This position is also responsible for managing sales within a designated territory. He/she provides effective leadership to team members and is a role model, who exemplifies QIAGEN core competencies to sales staff direct reports, and more broadly for Cellestis/QIAGEN. The Associate Director achieves revenues and profitability from sales of the company's products. The Associate Director is responsible for sales activities and achieving sales goals with targeted customers and accounts in the designated territory.

Requirements

• Successfully manage a sales region in North America, and a designated territory within that sales region
• Develop sales within the designated sales territory and designated region. Identify customer accounts within target markets. Develop and effectively implement sales plans for the designated sales territory and designated region.
• Assess individual customer needs and provide technical training and logistical solutions. Prioritize key account customers based on potential sales revenues and estimated time to close of sale.
• Develop sales team in region on product, disease state and selling skills utilizing the tools and resources provided.
• Achieve annual top line sales objectives for the US Region; while maintaining contribution margin for Cellestis/QIAGEN products .
• Develop and implement effective sales and business strategies, including formulating sales budgets and forecasts for the sales region; ensuring appropriate levels of staffing and coverage for the region; and development and management of sales incentive programs.
• Provide leadership and management for sales team in the region, including being a role model, who demonstrates QIAGEN core competencies: Leadership, Communicating Effectively, Business Focus, Managing Change, Customer Focus, Applying and Managing Resources, Taking Initiative, Developing and Applying Skills and Knowledge, and Working In Teams. Coach and development team members.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical sales industry or in vitro medical diagnostics industry.
• Basic knowledge of clinical laboratory practice.
• BS degree or equivalent.
• Experience in sales, preferably in the hospital division of pharmaceutical sales or in vitro medical diagnostics industry.
• Experience selling to key prospective customers and key prospective accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and a sales territory.
• Ability to organize, develop and manage a large geographic territory.
• Working knowledge of immunology and microbiology.
