Job Description

Responsible for  managing an engineering team and coordinating activities of engineering department to design,  develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services as related to Microarray Synthesis, Instrumentation, and Manufacturing. Works on or serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge of a particular field of specialization. Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·     Works cross functionally  to discuss project specifications and procedures as related to Photolithography, Systems Engineering, Optics, Injection Molding and Manufacturing Automation

·     Oversees the design and development of products

·     Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities

·     Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects

·     Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work

·     Plans and directs the engineering activities

·     Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives

  • Prioritizes projects and resources based on business strategies
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel
  • Leader of company operations, policies, and procedures
  • Leads and works effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs

Required: Minimum Bachelor's Degree with 5 years Managerial/Leadership experience

Preferred: Minimum Masters Degree or PhD with 5 years Managerial/Leadership experience

Level of Autonomy and Complexity:

  • Institutes objectives for business unit and entrusts assignments to employees; reviews objectives to determine success of operations; contributes to development and execution of company policies and objectives
  • Works on problems that require deep understanding of organizational goals; ensures meeting of budget, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Manages activities of employees in two or more departments; ensures achievement of  goals, budget, and other requirements
  • Errors in judgment or failure to accomplish goals will crucially impact short-term objectives of company, and may endanger company activities
