The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the tenure track.
The successful candidate will have experience in the field of Computational & Systems Biology with a focus on central nervous system. We seek candidates who will develop cutting edge research that develops computational models, methodologies and/or experimental approaches to address biological and biomedical problems related to the brain with the eventual goal of developing therapeutic interventions for major neurodegenerative diseases. Potential research focus includes but is not limited to modeling cellular and molecular interactions and pathways, use of model organisms for generating human disease oriented leads, analysis of large genomic and phenotype data sets, and personalized medicine for central nervous system disorders.
Responsibilities include developing and carrying out an independent research program that is synergistic with the scientific missions of Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center, and participating in graduate and medical school education.
