Job Description

The Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) seek outstanding candidates for two positions of assistant or associate professor. These are tenure-ladder positions, with the academic rank to be determined in accordance with the successful candidates' experience and productivity. One position is based in the Department of Biostatistics at HSPH and is affiliated with the Program in Quantitative Genomics, a school-wide interdisciplinary program promoting research and education in statistical genetics and genomics and computational biology. We seek candidates with strong backgrounds in methodological research in statistical genetics and genomics and its applications in health science. A second position is based in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at DFCI. We are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds and demonstrated experience in computational biology and bioinformatics, biostatistics, systems biology, computer science, or related fields with potential to become a leader in the application of these quantitative disciplines to the computational and systems biology use of “Big Data” in cancer research. Responsibilities will include methodological and collaborative research, teaching, and supervision of graduate students.


Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree in biostatistics, genetics, statistics, computer science, or allied fields by the time the appointment begins.
