Assistant Director – Mitochondrial & Rare Disorders

Requirements : Board certified or eligible, MD or PhD

 

GeneDx is a rapidly growing CAP and CLIA-certified diagnostic laboratory for molecular genetics. Our primary mission is to make clinical diagnostic testing available for people with genetic conditions and their families.  We apply cutting-edge technologies to provide a wide array of molecular genetic diagnostic tests, including whole exome sequencing and next-generation sequencing panels.   While we specialize in genetic testing for rare hereditary disorders, our menu also includes tests for common mitochondrial disorders.  To further expand our Mitochondrial program, we are searching for a full time Assistant Director, Mitochondrial and Rare Disorders Program.

Core Responsibilities:

    Interprets results, reviews and signs result reports
    Participates in and coordinates development of new tests for the mitochondrial and rare disorder testing programs
    Evaluates test performance, actively works to improve workflow, quality and turnaround time
    Provides expert customer service to GeneDx clients
    Represents GeneDx at conferences and contributes to publications

Requirements

Qualifications:

    Show appropriate judgment as it pertains to diagnostic and predictive testing, excellent time management and communication skills
    ABMG board certified or board eligible
