Job Description

Working as a member of the NEBNext Applications and Product Development Department, this individual will be focused on the development of cutting edge technology for Next Generation Sequencing applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop next-generation sequencing sample prep methods, both by utilizing standard molecular biology processes and creating novel solutions.
  • Coordinate and support all stages of the transition of new products from development to product release, such as validating processes, establishing quality controls, setting launch dates, coordinating beta testing, writing protocols, and aiding marketing and business development groups in preparation of product launches.
  • Communicate with customers and collaborators to troubleshoot problems, develop custom solutions, and generate new sample prep solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the life science industry.
  • Expertise in next generation sequencing from sample preparation to data analysis.
  • Extensive research and development experience with DNA and/or RNA polymerases and modifying enzymes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Publication of original scientific work in high-quality journals.
  • Demonstrated scientific communication in both formal and informal settings.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
