Job Description

Application Scientist/Technical Writer:

BioChain seeks a biologist or molecular biologist who wishes to contribute their technical writing abilities to our marketing efforts, while also acting as a back-up technical service scientist.


Write clear, simple content that communicates the technical and economic advantages of our products.
Provide scientific content for social media marketing purposes.
Proofread protocols written by the scientific team, and ensure that manuals are simple and foolproof.
Create technically accurate and compelling content for the BioChain webpage.

Write whitepapers and applications notes.
Collaborate with Marketing to review and update marketing collateral, from flyers to ad copy.
Occasionally work in the lab to produce data for whitepapers and marketing collateral.
Provide backup technical support as needed. 

* This is a good position for a scientist who wishes to move into the business and marketing side of biotech.


Must haves:

Be able to communicate complex concepts through clear, compelling writing.

Masters Degree in molecular biology or related field (biology, biochemistry etc).  Ph.D is a plus.

Solid laboratory skills.

Ability to juggle multiple projects on tight timelines.

Aptitude for quickly understanding a wide array of biological concepts and procedures.

Must be outgoing and customer service-oriented.

Able to diplomatically troubleshoot technical problems.

Education and work experience:

M.S in a relevant biology discipline, and 2 years experience

Ph.D. with some experience in writing (book chapters, publications, posters etc).
