Job Description

Industry leading life sciences company seeks an Account Manager to sell the company's line of research consumables, apparatus and small equipment to life science research laboratories, primarily academic institutions.  The Account Manager will be based in Dallas and manage a territory that includes Northern Texas, including Dallas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma with expected 40% travel.  The Account Manager will sell products that include:

  • Sample prep
  • Gene transfer
  • Eectrophoresis
  • Blotting
  • Amplification reagents
  • Thermal cyclers

A majority of sales are to academic research laboratories 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline
  • 3+ years sales experience, with experience selling to research labs in academic institutions preferred
  • A track record of accomplishment in selling similar lab products and supplies
  • Hands on laboratory experience which could include electrophoresis, western blotting, PCR, real time PCR, ELISA, and chromatography
  • Strong sales communications skills; oral, written, and presentation
  • A strong scientific - technical background with the ability to work effectively with scientists
  • Capital equipment sales experience a plus
