Job Description

The Account Manager will responsible for the entire sales cycle from prospecting through closing for a new microbiome sequencing product. You will be the first dedicated sales hire in a profitable and rapidly growing company, supported by both a marketing demand generation and scientific support to assist with technical sales. This role is best suited for a self-starter looking to sell into an exciting new market. Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales across both biotech and academic accounts
  • Understand the scientific and business needs of customers
  • Develop and implement sales plan to meet revenue and strategic objectives
  • Cultivate and maintain current knowledge of microbiome market, products, and buying practices
  • Give sales presentations to scientific audiences using product and application knowledge  
  • Accurately document activities and forecast opportunities in our CRM

 

Requirements
  • Experience in new product sales and/or early growth markets
  • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, and closing
  • 3+ years sales experience in life science with an emphasis on selling genomics products or services
  • 5+ years experience in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry in research, applications, support, sales, and/or business development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or  related fields or equivalent professional experience. Master’s degree preferred
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Microbiome experience preferred but not required
