Job Description

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSLs) at Labcorp Oncology, you will utilize your scientific and precision oncology expertise to directly support our healthcare providers, commercial sales team and drug development partners. MSLs will develop and maintain relationships with clinical and research leaders, support medical education and strategy, participate in research studies, attend medical and scientific conferences.

Essential Duties:

• Provide timely and high quality responses to scientific, medical and genomic inquiries from healthcare providers, commercial field team, and drug development partners.
• Provide advanced education as a scientific expert regarding Labcorp Oncology products (tissue and liquid) in precision-oncology and diagnostics through presentations and scientific exchange.
• Maintain a deep understanding of cancer patient management algorithms and clinical utility of laboratory-developed molecular tests
• Identify potential KOLs, clinical and research leaders, academicians, clinicians, medical directors, and other health care providers for collaborative initiatives
• Advance collaborative research studies in oncology & precision-medicine by supporting design, execution, analysis, and publication of scientific, translational, and correlative clinical biomarker research studies
• Represent Labcorp Oncology at regional and local scientific forums, including symposia, tumor boards, and training meetings.
• Create medical and scientific education materials such as training materials, white papers, peer reviewed manuscripts, case reports, and abstracts.
• Maintain medical affairs relationships by liaising and exchanging medical & scientific information with physicians and KOLs in oncology, pathology and drug development settings.
• Integrate efforts with Medical Affairs for organization of scientific advisory boards, key opinion leader management, coordination of clinical trials, and execution of publication strategy.
• Identify opportunities for investigator-initiated studies, and guide through the approval process and monitor study progress.
• Provide leadership and strategies to develop advocates for Labcorp Oncology and its products.
• Travel within assigned territory, 60+% of working time and outside the designated region up to 5% of working time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Terminal degree in a scientific field of study (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or academic equivalent such as Associate Professor position)
• 3-5 years of work experience as a Medical Science Liaison (or comparable role) in a diagnostic, biotech, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences company
• Experience working with clinicians to build consensus around products and/or services
• Familiarity with CLIA, LDT, Sunshine Act (2013), AdvaMed Guidelines, FDA approvals, 510k clearances
• Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of work experience as a Medical Science Liaison (or comparable role) in a diagnostic, biotech, pharmaceutical, or other life sciences company
• PhD, PharmD, or MD in oncology, or precision oncology,
• Resides in assigned geography
• Applies advanced knowledge of the biotechnology, diagnostics and pharmaceutical industry to advance the medical and scientific objectives of our company
• Subject matter expertise in cancer genomics. Knowledge of biomarker/therapeutic development
• Demonstrated success managing territory
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, and other software skills
• Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining a strong teamwork ethic
• Multi-dimensional in abilities to work on simultaneous tasks, work cross-team and at different levels of the organization, whether internal or external relationships to the organization
• Self-directed, intrinsically motivated, flexible to changes in an ever-changing dynamic environment
• Strong problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, time management skills and personal initiative
