Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop appropriate sales plan as territory business owner to meet assigned sales quotas
• Successfully manage a complex sales process for capital equipment and consumables
• Deliver effective presentations and demonstrations of the Telesis Bio portfolio which are aligned with the company’s value and vision
• Provide regular updates on sales progress to management towards closing and meeting assigned quotas
• Drive key customer partnerships and KOL relationships to develop and increase brand presence in the market
• Utilize CRM database (e.g. Salesforce), as well as other sales enablement tools, and provide progress/update as accurately and timly as possible
• Manage existing customers, monitor usage, and seek upsell and cross sell opportunities
• Interact with cross functional teams, including marketing, field applications, technical support and customer service
• Attend trade shows and conferences; drive sales funnel through local marketing initiatives
• Work remotely, out of a home office
• All other duties as assigned or necessary

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years field sales and business development experience in molecular biology or synthetic biology such as NGS sample prep
• Experience selling complex capital equipment impacting workflow and productivity to research/life science departments, with understanding in different purchase processes
• Strong local network in Pharma, Biotech and Research organizations in assigned territory
• Strong desire to win business with a high sense of urgency and focus; Strong business accumen and ability to work to timeframe and budget; negotiation skills
• Experience with integrated systems including a CRM (e.g. Salesforce)
• Excellent verbal and writing skills

Education Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences required, graduate degree preferred
• Sales training methodologies, SPIN selling, for example

Working Conditions:
• Estimated travel is > 50%
