How this role drives the company forward:
The Financial Analyst role supports the Finance team and is responsible to ensure financial deadlines are met by preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and financial statement preparation and analyses.
The Financial Analyst has dedicated experience in general accounting, as well as in supporting the end-to-end budgeting/forecasting processes. The Financial Analyst will play a role in month-end closing responsibilities, pricing and/or costing, as well as various types of reporting. This position may verify, investigate, and solve any finance-related issues or problems whether independently or with guidance from management. This position is responsible for assisting in driving decisions supported through financial analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
The Financial Analyst is an on-site role located in San Jose, CA.
How you will make an impact:
In this role, you will be challenged to analyze various data sets directly related to the financial performance of the company. You will be responsible for developing and refining key business metrics and driving robust analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, while evaluating possible alternatives and recommending appropriate actions. This role will also be tasked with special projects, which will be used by internal business leaders. The value of this role’s output is an important driver of many business decisions.
What will you do:
Preparation of account analyses, journal entries, that supports the month-end closing of financial statements, which includes costing and inventory functions.
Prepares quarterly commission schedules.
Prepares monthly financial reporting including variance and financial statement analysis
Assists in the annual budget process, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends and operational effectiveness.
Performs customer and product profitability analysis and provides pricing decision support.
Identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth and margin expansion.
Responsible for monthly forecasting and long-range planning processes
Routine communication with department heads relating to financial performance, issues and deliverables.
Responsible for weekly and daily dashboard reporting.
Support business leaders in financial modeling, cost-benefit and other ad hoc analysis.
Plays a key role in audit preparation and coordination of the audit process, and interfaces with public accountants for audit and tax purposes.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
How will you get here?
Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 3 years with a master’s degree.
Knowledge of financial reporting requirements (GAAP) and SOX 404.
Ability to present to management, and/or conduct sessions to small groups.
Working knowledge of MS Office apps and other databases, specifically in Excel.
Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
You are amazing if you have:
Experience with a large ERP system, such as Oracle Cloud or EBS.
CPA/MBA.
