Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking an accomplished professional to manage our Enterprise Resource Planning replacement initiative. The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program Manager will work with key CSHL stakeholders and actively partner with selected vendors in achieving project success, from Discovery and Vendor Selection through Implementation, Quality Assurance, and Delivery.

Successful candidates will have a record of accomplishment in managing the selection and implementation of ERP SaaS platforms and software (Workday, Oracle, SAGE, etc.) They will be adept at project planning and coordination, budgeting, and task management. They will be accomplished at navigating risks, managing vendors, communicating project activities, and ultimately assuring successful delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Works with key stakeholders including C-suite (COO, CFO, CIO), department/divisional heads, and ERP vendors to outline project deliverables, business requirements, risks, assumptions, key stakeholders, roles, and budget.
• Creates/documents/updates project scope, project plan, work breakdown structure for cost management, delivery of milestones, and needed resources. Project plan defines project activities with their duration, dependencies, needed resources, and costs.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for all communication and task coordination with CSHL stakeholders and staff, Steering and Operational Committees, and participating vendors.
• Forecasts needed CSHL resources and coordinates with resource managers to define required roles and tasks for each project phase. Works with resource managers to assign staff and the procurement of contractors. Updates resource plans as needed.
• Tightly follows program progress, performance against established plans, and any risks that may affect the project schedule, dependencies, budget, and resource needs. Modifies and communicates schedules following change management processes.
• Maintains the project budget, including variances and requested reforecasts. Follows up on any cost changes with supporting documentation for approval.
• Leads weekly project review meetings with the core project team to communicate work plans, track actual performance against plans and budget, and define action items with due dates to address any identified issues. Provides meeting minutes and supporting materials to CSHL leadership.
• Oversees and communicates deliverable creation including reviews of resources managers’ deliverables and client testing/acceptance including quality assurance.
• Mentors and coaches others on project management competencies to help maintain project schedules and efficient use of resources.
• Performs related duties, as required.
Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Undergraduate in a related field, (Masters Preferred). Certification(s) in one or more of the following areas: Program Management Institute (PMI) or Scrum Alliance.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience including five (5) years of enterprise project management for Information Technology projects. Financial system implementation background and experience utilizing standards and industry best practices. Human Capital Management system implementation background and experience utilizing standards and industry best practices. Grants Management system experience, preferred. Experience in an academic research center environment, preferred.
SKILLS: Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical and organization skills, and ability to manage multiple phases of complex projects. Ability to facilitate crucial or controversial discussions to drive issues to resolution. Record of multiple multi-year engagements. Ability to facilitate overall product design discussions to completion. Ability to mentor and coach others in project management competencies.
