Our comprehensive portfolio of services are utilized for a variety of applications across the clinical spectrum (e.g. cancer, inflammation, neurodegenerative diseases, etc.), including:

 

  • Biomarker discovery and validation
  • Preclinical and clinical studies (prospective and retrospective)
  • Patient screening and clinical trial recruitment
  • Assay development
  • Monitoring drug activity and therapeutic response
  • Cancer screening and recurrence monitoring
  • Diagnostic testing

 

Fulgent’s rapid growth and heavy investment into new products and services for pharma and clinical research has presented an opportunity to expand our Business Development Team in Boston, MA, Los Angeles, CA and the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.

 

We are looking for a self-motivated, science-oriented, and experienced Business Development Manager to help grow our proteomics business in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. 

 

Qualifications/skills

  • BS, MS in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of proteomics technologies  
  • 1+ years relevant sales or customer service experience
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Proven track record of successfully assessing new business opportunities and establishing large scale strategic accounts in the pharma/biotech sectors
  • Proactive problem-solver with entrepreneurial drive
  • Strategic thinker who possesses solid business judgement
  • Ability to identify and evaluate business opportunity 
  • Be a team player with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to attend conferences and meet clients in-person 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and desire to succeed
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks 
  • Ability to innovate and work independently in a results-oriented environment with positive attitude

 

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and establish partnership contracts, conduct due diligence and drive deal process to execution of contracts and related business agreements
  • Generate and drive a pipeline of strategic opportunities with biotech, pharmaceutical, commercial, and strategic partners
  • Execute sales prospecting and lead generation
  • Generate qualified appointments through proactive outbound prospecting into target accounts
  • Qualify marketing leads from trade shows, events, campaigns, and other activities/sources to potential sales qualified leads
  • Research, contact and book meetings with prospects that meet provided qualifying parameters
  • Cold call new prospects using a combination of phone, social media, and email
  • Gather sales intelligence around customers’ situation, needs, and decision process 
  • Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews and continue to align revenue recognition & forecasting to ensure annual goals are met or exceeded 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to continue to build out expanded offerings for pharma and clinical research 
  • Collaborate with Business Development, Project Management, and support teams to ensure that project milestones are met in full and on time
