Position description

The Moores Cancer Center (https://health.ucsd.edu/specialties/cancer) a National Cancer Institute- designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and are seeking a Project Scientist.

 

The Project Scientist will be responsible for performing cellular and molecular biology techniques pertaining to tumor microenvironment and tumor progression of hematopoietic tumors, in particular multiple myeloma. The Project scientist will carry-out experiments using both mouse models and cellular systems to investigate tumor-promoting pathways as well anti-tumor immunity and immunotherapy. The Project scientist will also be required to write grants and perform independent experiments.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.

Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

 

Candidates must have a PhD and must have experience in writing grants and performing independent experiments.

 

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

 

Candidates must have completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer biology, immunology or a related field at the time of hiring.
