BioTek, now a part of Agilent, is a market leader in detection and imaging instrumentation for life science and drug discovery research. We are recognized globally for our innovative product lines and excellent customer service. Our customers include academic, government, and biotech/pharmaceutical companies. We are currently seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented life scientist to join the BioTek Sales Team as a Field Applications Scientist/Imaging Specialist. The ideal individual will be outgoing, confident, and results-oriented with excellent communication/presentation skills and expertise in imaging and image analysis. He/she will work well independently but will appreciate being part of a dynamic, growing sales team.


Primary responsibilities:

·         Provide applications support to the sales team in support of the Lionheart and Cytation product lines

·         Provide field-based & remote scientific engagement with customers in both pre/post-sales capacities; from vendor shows/conferences, focused 1:1 consultation, product demonstrations to applications-focused training & assay optimization

·         Develop expertise with instrument hardware/software while keeping abreast of current assays/workflows as well as emerging applications

·         Convey Customers’ voice to product management to promote innovation and address evolving market requirements



  • Will possess a MS or PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field.

  • Strong academic or industrial experience using microplate-based instrumentation, preferably in an HCS or HTS lab setting.

  • Extensive knowledge of cell-based assays including but not limited to: fluorescence, confocal, and live cell imaging; flow cytometry; metabolic assays; and advanced use of analysis software programs (such as ImageJ, CellProfiler, FlowJo)

  • Experience with microplate readers/washers and related assays (ELISAs, FP, HTRF, FRET, AlphaScreen) is preferred. 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort with public speaking, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • He/she must be willing to travel 30-50%
