Seegene Receives Canadian Approval for Allplex Respiratory MDx Test

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Seegene today announced that Health Canada has approved its multiplexed Allplex Respiratory Panel 5 assay.

The real-time PCR-based molecular diagnostic test identifies influenza virus A subtypes H1 and H3, influenza B, and human respiratory syncytial viruses A and B.

Seoul, South Korea-based Seegene now offers ten infectious disease tests in Canada, the firm said in a statement.

In February the firm received US Food and Drug Administration approval for its test for herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2, its first foray into the American market. 

Seegene said that it is pursuing submissions of other Allplex tests for the European, Canadian, and American markets.
