NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Contextual Genomics today announced that it has received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists.
The Vancouver, Canada-based firm is developing next-generation sequencing-based tumor profiling tests. Last year, it launched a tumor profiling consortium in Canada with the Personalized Medicine Initiative.
CAP accreditation is designed to ensure a high standard of care for laboratory patients. During the process, inspectors examine the lab's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. They also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.
