NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Agena Bioscience today announced it received CE-IVD marking for the MassArray system with Chip Prep Module and has launched the platform in Europe for general in vitro diagnostic use.
The MassArray is for targeted genetic testing. Its multiplexing capabilities support assays that interrogate multiple biomarkers in a single reaction, reducing costs and turnaround time, compared with other diagnostic methods, Agena said. It enables high-throughput, accurate detection of SNPs, indels, and copy number variations across genetic applications, such as mutation profiling for solid tumors, and highly sensitive liquid biopsy analysis, as well as comprehensive pharmacogenomic profiling, the firm added.
"In addition to the well-established performance of the MassArray system, the Chip Prep Module now adds increased ease-of-use to the overall workflow," Agena CEO Peter Dansky said in a statement.
Assurex announced a week ago that it selected the MassArray system for laboratory setup and sample processing of the GeneSight Psychotropic pharmacogenetic test.
