Target Discovery has launched a suite of dynamic pre-coat reagents for capillary and microchannel electrophoresis called UltraTrol. The reagents help control electroosmotic force and flow (EOF) during CE separations. Since they do not elute with the sample, they allow for CE separations to be coupled with other systems, such as mass spectrometry or HPLC.

Schott Nexterion has launched Nexterion Slide MPX, coated glass slides that are partitioned into either 16 or 48 wells by a hydrophobic patterning material. The slides are available with aminosilane, epoxysilane, or aldehydesilane coating. A hydrogel variant for protein arrays is available for beta testing.

CNRS has released a new protein normal mode analysis web server, ElNémo. Normal mode analysis is a tool for predicting the possible movements of a macromolecule. ElNémo is a web interface to the Elastic Network Model that provides a tool to compute, visualize, and analyze low-frequency normal modes of proteins. The server can be found at http://igs-server.cnrs-mrs.fr/elnemo/. A paper describing its functions has been published in Nuclear Acids Research and can be found at http://nar.oupjournals.org/cgi/content/full/32/suppl_2/W610.
