Promega, Invitrogen, Cerno Bioscience, OpenEye Scientific Software

Promega this week introduced the HaloCHIP system, an antibody-free alternative to chromatin immunoprecipitation. In addition to being antibody-free, HaloCHIP delivers results in about half the time of chromatic immunoprecipitation and improves signal-to-noise ratios, according to the company.

Invitrogen this week launched Click-iT Glycoprotein Profiling Reagents for the characterization and analysis of glycoproteins in two steps.

Cerno Bioscience introduced this week the MassWorks Self Calibrated Lineshape Isotope Profile Search, which allows ion trap users to obtain quality formula identification of unknown formula. sCLIPS allows for formula identification through high spectral accuracy “when running ion traps in zoom and enhanced resolution modes by virtue of its patented line shape calibration method,” the company said in a statement.
For users of instruments such as TOFs, high resolution quadrupoles, and Fourier transform mass specs, sCLIPS enhances identification accuracy without having to run calibration standards, the company said.

OpenEye Scientific Software this week launched AFITT version 1.3. AFITT is an automatic ligand-fitting application that “optimizes a real-space fit to density while keeping conformational strain to a minimum,” OpenEye said in a statement. While other crystallography software tools provide automated construction of 3D protein coordinates, they are less adept at handling ligand structures, the company said.
