NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Pressure BioSciences today announced an exclusive agreement with Powertech Technology for the distribution of Pressure Bio's pressure cycling technology in China.
The deal is for three years. Pressure Bio did not disclose additional details about the agreement.
Based in Xiamen, China, Powertech distributes analytical instruments to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, commercial testing laboratory, and other markets in China.
Pressure Bio Vice President of Marketing and Sales Nathan Lawrence said in a statement that the company believes China to be the biggest market for PCT products outside of the US. Along with use of PCT by China's proteomics, genomics, and lipidomics researchers, Powertech's customer base includes agricultural, food safety, and environmental laboratories, "the types of facilities we believe will make up the majority of the next wave of potential customers for our PCT-based products," said Lawrence.
