PerkinElmer Life Sciences, Ciphergen Biosystems, Shimadzu Biotech

PerkinElmer Life Sciences has released a new range of clear SpectraPlate microplates. The 96- and 384-well plates are available with medium or high protein affinity, as well as for cell culturing. They are designed for ELISA and other colorimetric assays.

Ciphergen Biosystems has introduced an automation system, called ProteinChip AutoBiomarker, to complement its SELDI platform. The instrument provides automated sample preparation, spotting and chip loading, as well as a database, biomarker analysis software and a kit for serum protein expression profiling.

Shimadzu Biotech has released PsiPort, a web-based data review and acquisition LC/MS software designed to optimize high-throughput mass-directed auto purification. Using a graphical browser interface, PsiPort includes customized report templates, an “internet print friendly” format, and specific pre-configured acquisition and post processing parameters for LC, MS and peripheral devices.
