Protea Biosciences announced this week that it has appointed Thijs Spoor and Josiah Austin to its board of directors.

Spoor is currently chairman of the board, CEO, and president of FluoroPharma Medical. Previously he was chief financial officer for Sunstone Biosciences.

Austin is currently the managing member of El Coronado Holdings. He previously served on the boards of Monterey Bay Bancorp, New York Bancorp, and North Forth Bancorporation.


CyVek this week appointed Sheila Burns vice president of sales and marketing.

Burns was previously senior director of global strategic marketing at Luminex and before that held senior level positions at Life Technologies and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
