NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Overbrook Scientific will distribute Phytronix's laser diode thermal desorption ionization technology to labs in the US, under an agreement announced today.

According to Boston-based Overbrook, the LDTD technology can increase the speed of analyzing compounds 20 to 100 times compared to established techniques based on liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The technology can be added to any LC-MS/MS system, said Overbrook, which also claims that the technology offers a better price and performance over APCI and MALDI techniques.
