New Products: Sage-N Sorcerer Update, Western Reagents from Bio-Rad, and More

Sage-N-Research this week released a new configuration of its Sorcerer platform based on the Primergy TX300-S7 tower server, including Intel's E5-2600 series processor.

The new platform has 16 cores compared to 8 previously, offering more simultaneous computing power, the company said. It also has added storage space and a more energy-efficient design.


Bio-Rad this week launched is new Clarity western ECL substrate, a chemiluminescent detection reagent for western blotting.

The reagent offers low background, long signal detection, and sensitivity into the mid- to low-femtogram range, the company said.


Phenomenex introduced this week a 5-micron particle column to its Kinetex core-shell line.

According to the company the column provides on average 90 percent higher efficiency compared to equivalent full porous columns.
