Bio-Rad this week introduced its new Image Lab 4.1 software for use in quantifying protein expression levels in western blots via its ChemiDoc MP imaging system.

The new software automates protein normalization of multiplex fluorescent western blots by extracting image data direction from the ChemiDoc imager, providing a simpler, faster workflow, the company said.

Biotage this week released its new Initiator+ Alstra, an automated microwave peptide synthesizer for building peptides, peptoids, PNA, and peptidomimetics.

The instrument features a working volume as low as 0.6 mL, enabling small-scale synthesis, and robotic liquid handling and digital syringe pumps to reduce reagent waste, the company said.
