New Products: Additions to Bruker's Biotyper Test Library and More

Bruker this week released a new reference library for its MALDI Biotyper instrument.

The new version of the library includes three new bacteria genera and 50 new bacteria species as well as eight new yeast genera and 63 new yeast species. It also includes the 800 new main spectra for microbial species already present in the database, improving intra-species coverage and identification accuracy.


Protein Simple has launched its Sally Sue and Peggy Sue Western blot instruments.

According to the company both instruments allow for simultaneous analysis of up to 96 samples, and deliver 10 times the sensitivity of its previous instruments while requiring 80 percent less sample.


Biotage has launched its ISOLUTE PLD+ plates for the removal of proteins and phospholipids prior to mass spec analysis.

According to the company, the plates remove more than 99 percent of plasma proteins and phospholipids.
