Agilent this week released its new 7700e ICP-MS instrument as well as an updated version of its ICP-MS MassHunter Workstation software.
An addition to Agilent's 7700 Series ICP-MS line, the 7700e is designed as an entry-level ICP-MS device with "the emphasis on streamlined and simplified operation for common applications," the company said.
The MassHunter software features a new interface and pre-set methods that allow users to choose from pre-defined sets of operating conditions. The program comes in a full version and a simplified core version. The core version will ship with the 7700e, while the full version will come with Agilent's 7700x and 7700s models.
Sage-N Research announced this week the integration of a new phosphorylation algorithm into its Sequest 3G search engine.
The algorithm, which is based on the Ascore phosphorylation algorithm developed by Harvard researcher Steve Gygi, allows for improved identification of the location of phosphorylation sites through mass spectrometry, the company said.
