Agilent Technologies has named Tachi Yamada to its board of directors. Yamada currently serves as president of the global health program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Previously, he was chairman of research and development at GlaxoSmithKline.


Cetero Research this week announced it has appointed Roger Hayes president of bioanalytic operations.

Previously Hayes was director of the bioanalytical department at Merck Research Laboratories' Schering-Plough Research Institute. Prior to that he worked at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals and was the co-administrator of a National Science Foundation mass spectrometry research facility.
