Vermillion has appointed Donald Munroe as chief scientific officer and vice president of research and development. Eric Fung, the company's former chief scientific officer, will now serve as chief medical officer.

Munroe was previously vice president of immunoassay research and development at Beckman Coulter. Before that he held several management roles at Invitrogen and worked in pharmaceutical discovery research experience at the R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute.
