Katherine O’Hara will become senior vice president and general counsel of PerkinElmer on May 2, the company said this week. Most recently, she was vice president and associate general counsel for Avon Products. Prior to that, she was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York, where she focused on capital markets transactions for global clients. Before that, O’Hara was a leader of the Argentine business unit of Morgan Guaranty Trust Company of New York.
O’Hara holds a doctorate of law from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree in economics from Duke University.
Vance Wheelock has joined BioAnalyte, a Portland, Maine-based company that provides proteomics software, to “consult on e-commerce solutions” and to advise the company on selling its proNets and pepNets licenses, which permit analytical instrument users to process datasets using the company’s Trawler products on a per-dataset basis. Wheelock co-founded the Maine Linux User Group in 1995, and founded the Southern Maine Linux Users Group in 2000. Until last fall, Wheelock was the lead web developer for Blue Marble Geographics, a mapping software company.
