Karin Eastham will resign as senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer, and secretary of Diversa after the company’s annual shareholder meeting in mid-May. She will continue to consult for Diversa for a period of time.
Seiichiro Tsurumaki has been appointed assistant vice president for Japan of Bruker Daltonics, a company of Bruker Biosciences. He will be responsible for marketing, sales, applications, customer support, and research activities in Japan and will join Bruker’s global management team. Tsurumaki joined Bruker in 2000 as sales and marketing director in Japan. Prior to that, he was MALDI-TOF and LC-MS sales manager at Nihon Perseptive. As part of his new responsibilities, Tsurumaki is expanding the Yokohama Technical Support Center and will also open an Osaka applications laboratory, according to the company.
J. Mark Lievonen has joined the board of directors of Calgary, Canada-based Oncolytics. He is the president of Aventis Pasteur. Since 2003, he has also been a director of the Ontario Genomics Institute board. Lievonen holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from York University.
