Jeff Whitmore has joined Alpha Innotech as vice president of global sales, the company said. He was previously director of European life science sales for Molecular Devices. Alpha develops and manufactures digital imaging and analysis systems for the life science and drug discovery markets.

Andre Marion, a founder of Applied Biosystems, has been appointed to the board of Singulex, the company said this week. Marion served as CEO of ABI from 1986 to 1993 and was chairman of its board from 1987 to 1993. After the company merged with Perkin-Elmer, he stayed on as vice president of PE and president of ABI until 1995.
