Jake Orville, Steven Paul

NextGen announced the appointment of Jake Orville as vice president of global sales. He will be responsible for the commercialization of NextGen’s products in North America, Europe, and the Far East. He replaces Geoff Alms who is now leading NextGen’s North American business development.
NextGen, based in Cambridge, UK, purchased Proteomic Research Services on Nov. 3, adding to its portfolio of protein synthesis services [See PM 11-09/06].
Orville was previously at Third Wave Technologies as VP of sales and business development.

Sigma-Aldrich’s board this week elected Steven Paul as a director. Paul is executive vice president for science and technology and president of the Lilly Research Laboratories of Eli Lilly. Prior to that, he was scientific director of the National Institute of Mental Health.
