Advion, SISCAPA Partner to Offer Assay Services

By a GenomeWeb staff reporter

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Advion BioServices is offering SISCAPA LC/MS Biomarker assay services under a deal with SISCAPA Assay Technologies announced today.

SISCAPA, short for Stable Isotope Standards with Capture by Anti-Peptide Antibody, is a workflow developed by Leigh Anderson as a mass spectrometry-based method for biomarker validation. As GenomeWeb Daily News' sister publication ProteoMonitor recently reported, Anderson formed SISCAPA Assay Technologies to commercialize the technology.

In a statement today, Anderson said that Advion becomes the first contract research organization to offer SISCAPA assay services.

"By partnering with SISCAPA Assay Technologies, we are able to leverage our expertise in protein and peptide analysis by mass spectrometry and open new areas of testing for our clients," Tom Kurz, president of Advion, said.

The services will be conducted in Advion's LC/MS laboratory in Ithaca, NY. Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
