Sciex, Evosep Ink Comarketing Agreement for LC-MS Proteomics Workflows

NEW YORK – Sciex and Evosep announced on Monday an agreement to comarket, respectively, their mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography systems for high-throughput proteomics workflows.

Under the agreement, Framingham, Massachusetts-based Sciex will market its ZenoTOF 7600 mass spec system with Odense, Denmark-based Evosep's Evosep One LC system. The companies said they plan to engage with several joint customers on the development and validation of proteomics-based assays.

"The ZenoTOF 7600 system with its enhanced speed of acquisition and sensitivity improvements can detect and quantify up to 40 percent more proteins than our previous systems and EAD fragmentation delivers new capabilities for post-translational modifications — an important but challenging area in biomarker research," Jose Castro-Perez, senior director of accurate mass product management at Sciex, said in a statement. "The Evosep One adds even more sensitivity and higher throughput to be the perfect match for translational proteomics on a very large scale."

"The Evosep One separation solution fits perfectly with the focused applications developed by Sciex," said Nicolai Bache, head of application, Evosep. "It can provide one to two orders of magnitude better sensitivity with its low-flow rate methods while still being extremely robust and easy to use."

The companies said that in the future they hope to expand the collaboration to include other platforms and applications.

Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
