Leroy Hood will be inducted into the National Academy of Engineering on Sept. 30 in Washington, DC. He is one of seven individuals who have been elected to all three National Academies. He is also an inductee in the National Academy of Science and the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies.
 
Hood is the president of the Institute for Systems Biology and was involved in the founding of numerous life science companies including Applied Biosystems and Amgen.
