Deadlines

May 8
Application deadline for the NIH grant, Innovations in Biomedical Computational Science and Technology, which will award money for the development of computational resources for biomedical research.

May 13
Application deadline for a series of NIH grants, Recovery Act Limited Competition: Research to Address the Heterogeneity in Autism Spectrum Disorders. These grants will fund research in multiple areas concerning the heterogeneity of autism spectrum disorders, including biomarkers/biological signatures, genetics/genomics, and model development.

May 16
Application deadline for the NINDS Ischemic Stroke Genetics Consortium grant, which will use National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke funds for applications to establish a genome-wide association study consortium focused on identifying genes that influence the risk and outcome of ischemic stroke.

May 20
Application deadline for the Petascale Computing Resource Allocations grant. This NSF grant will fund applications from research groups to utilize Blue Waters, a new NSF-funded petascale computing system that will go online at the University of Illinois in 2011. Proposals must demonstrate that there is a science or engineering research problem that requires and can effectively exploit the petascale computing capabilities offered by Blue Waters.

May 30
Application deadline for the NCI grant, Transdisciplinary Cancer Genomics Research: Post-Genome Wide Association Initiative. These funds will support transdisciplinary research projects using current GWAS data and integrative ¬¬post-GWAS discovery research to further identify cancer susceptibility genes.

June 2
Abstract submission deadline for the ASHG meeting, to be held from Oct. 20-24.

June 2
Abstract submission deadline for the AMP meeting, to be held from Nov 19-22.

June 3
Application deadline for the grant entitled Pharmacogenomics Knowledge Base issued by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences. The award will fund applicants to the PharmGKB, which is being developed to house complete, comprehensive, and current knowledge in pharmacogenomics.

June 3
Application deadline for the grant entitled Pharmacogenomics Research Network. This NIH award, comprised of funds from NIGMS, NHLBI, NCI, NIDA, NIMH, and NICHD, will award participation in the PGRN. Grantees will conduct research into understanding the genetic basis of variable drug responses, both therapeutic and adverse.

June 19
Application deadline for The Integrative Cancer Biology Program: Centers for Cancer Systems Biology grant. NIH will fund CCSBs that will develop integrative systems approaches and mathematical/computational modeling to cancer research, and especially in this grant, predictive computational modeling.

June 27
Application deadline for the grant, 1000 Genomes Project Dataset Analysis. This NIH funding will support analysis of the full dataset from the project, including evaluating allele frequency distribution and signals of natural selection, producing additional data types, evaluating the strategies used to develop the dataset, and developing additional tools.

July 2
Application deadline for the NLM Applied Informatics Grants. Awarded by the National Library of Medicine, these grants will support translational efforts to bring useful clinical and biomedical research information into practice.

July 6
Application deadline for the Proteomics in Auditory Developmental and Disease Processes grant. NIH will fund proteomic research on the auditory system.

July 6
Application deadline for the NIH grant, Integrating Lung Genetics and Genomics in Human Populations, which will support research to find genes associated with human complex traits for lung disease.
