Biognosys, Thermo Fisher Ink Reselling Deal for Spectronaut Proteomics Software

NEW YORK – Proteomics firm Biognosys said Wednesday that it has entered a reselling agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific for its Spectronaut proteomics software.

Under the agreement, the companies will comarket and sell Biognosys' Spectronaut software for data-independent acquisition (DIA) proteomics experiments.

Biognosys granted Thermo Fisher the rights to directly quote and sell Spectronaut from its product catalog, allowing customers to purchase a Thermo Fisher mass spectrometry system and Spectronaut software package via a single offer.

Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"We are excited to facilitate access to Spectronaut for users of Thermo Fisher mass spectrometry instruments," Oliver Rinner, CEO and founder of Biognosys, said in a statement. "Data analysis remains a critical success factor for mass spectrometry-based proteomics, with huge potential for further gains. With Spectronaut, we have pioneered the transition to DIA as a state-of-the-art acquisition method in discovery proteomics. In many exciting areas, the field is still emerging, and we believe that the comparability of results across instrument platforms from different vendors is vital to further progress."

"We are very pleased to collaborate with Biognosys to equip researchers with powerful workflows for their proteomics research," August Specht, VP of R&D, chromatography, and mass spectrometry at Thermo Fisher, said in a statement. "By making Spectronaut available together with our mass spectrometry systems, we offer our customers a comprehensive, streamlined solution for DIA proteomics."
