Pattern Bioscience: Carey-Ann Burnham
Pattern Bioscience has appointed Carey-Ann Burnham its chief clinical officer, effective March 30. She will be responsible for the firm's assay validation and regulatory review and guide clinical and health economics utility studies. Burnham was recently a professor of pathology and immunology, molecular microbiology, pediatrics, and medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and the medical director of clinical microbiology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. In December the US Food and Drug Administration granted Austin, Texas-based Pattern Bio breakthrough device designation for its Pneumonia Action Panel, a direct-from-specimen phenotypic ID/AST test.
