NanoString Technologies: John Gerace, Chad Brown

NanoString Technologies said that Chad Brown, who has served as senior VP of sales and marketing since June 2017, will shift into a part-time senior advisor role effective April 1 before retiring in 2023.

Also, John Gerace has been named to the position of chief commercial officer. For the past four years, Gerace has served as president of DiaSorin Molecular, the molecular diagnostics unit of DiaSorin. Prior to that, he was president and cofounder of Calabri Biosciences, a healthcare diagnostics and monitoring consultancy. From April 2015 to December 2016, he was president and CEO of Freedom Meditech, which was sold to Trividia Health, a subsidiary of SinoCare. From 2007 to 2014, he served in a variety of roles at Applied Biosystems/Life Technologies, including as VP and general manager of the PCR Systems business unit, and later as head of the Applied Markets business unit. Prior to Life Technologies, Gerace spent 14 years at Beckman Coulter in various sales, marketing, and business development leadership roles. He holds BS degrees in chemistry and biological sciences from the University of California at Irvine and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
