InterVenn Biosciences: Regina Benjamin, Stephana Patton

InterVenn Biosciences has appointed Regina Benjamin to its advisory board and named Stephana Patton as chief legal officer.

Benjamin is founder and CEO of BayouClinic/Gulf States Health Policy Center in Bayou La Batre, Alabama, and is chair of public health sciences at Xavier University. She served as the US Surgeon General from 2009 to 2013 and led the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. Benjamin also serves on the boards of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan, Ascension Health Alliance, and three publicly traded companies.

Patton most recently served as general counsel, corporate secretary, and chief compliance officer at BioTime; and as vice president, general counsel, and commercial compliance officer at BioDelivery Sciences International. She began her pharmaceutical industry career at Salix Pharmaceuticals, where she was VP of intellectual property and licensing until the company was acquired by Valeant in 2015.
